According to polling averages calculated by Real Clear Politics, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is the new the poll leader of Democratic candidates for the 2020 presidential election, if by a very small margin. Warren overtook former Vice President Joe Biden in poll averages on Tuesday. Most recently, 26.6 percent of registered Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents said that they would vote for Warren, as opposed to 26.4 percent for Biden. While the margin is razor-thin, a clear upwards trend is visible in Warren's polling.
Only 14.6 percent of respondents said they would rather pick Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) as a presidential candidate. The Independent who suffered a heart attack on the campaign trail recently is taking a step back from campaigning at the moment.
Pete Buttigieg and Kamala Harris (D-CA) trailed behind more significantly than before, at 5.6 percent and 4.4 percent, respectively.
