President Trump has collected more donations than any Democratic primary candidate, a product of his unorthodox campaign that started amassing money his first day in the White House, a move no other president in U.S. history has done.
While President Trump is gearing up for the presidential election, there are still 18 major Democratic candidates who are fighting to become the party's nominee in the primary. Senator Bernie Sanders has received most donations, followed by Senator Elizabeth Warren, according to the FEC. South Bend, Ind., mayor Pete Buttigieg rounds out the three leading Democrats. All top three Democratic hopefuls and billionaire candidiate Tom Steyer have collected more money that former Vice President Joe Biden, who has a moderate $23 million in his campaign's name.
