coffee and tea manufacturing revenue in the USA 2010-2022 The revenue of the tea and coffee manufacturing industry in the U.S. demonstrated a strong increase between 2010 and 2016, a trend that is likely to taper off over the next few years. According to estimates by Statista based on the data from the US Census Bureau, the market is expected to reach approximately 15.6 billion U.S. Dollars by 2022.

Coffee dominates the hot drinks market

The hot drinks market in the U.S. is dominated by coffee, which accounted for a revenue share of over eighty percent in 2018. Tea, which is more popular in the eastern world, accounted for only ten percent; Cocoa accounted for the rest. Notably, the U.S. leads the global market in terms of revenues from coffee sales.

Although, the country’s per capita consumption of coffee hovered more or less around the same levels, the market is expected to witness growth primarily due to a steady increase in the average price per unit.

Colombia is the biggest exporter of coffee to the U.S.

The U.S. mostly imports its tea and coffee from the South American countries and Canada. Colombia, the third largest coffee grower in the world was the biggest coffee trading partner of the U.S. in 2018, followed by Brazil. However, in the case of tea, Canada emerged as the leading exporter followed by Argentina.
