Sports footwear is an integral part of the industry accounting for almost 74 percent of total sales in 2017 as compared to apparel’s 34 percent. Nike has consistently dominated the global athletic footwear market over the period 2010-2018, with sales of over 22.3 billion U.S. dollars in 2018. The average selling price for athletic footwear stood at around 58.16 U.S. dollars in 2017.
