16.07.2018 Statista saw strong growth in the first half of 2018

More registered users, more own content, and more international than ever: the statistics portal Statista can look back on a strong first half of 2018

About ten years after its foundation, Statista saw strong growth in the first half of 2018. The statistics portal statista.com’s total number of registered users grew to around 1.5 million, while the traffic has almost doubled compared to last year with eight million unique visitors per month. The online portal furthermore currently records some 22.6 million page views every month.

The content and products offered on the platform also grew strongly. In addition to the expansion of the available statistics, studies, reports, and other formats as well as new data partners, Statista also considerably increased the share of data it collects and surveys itself. As a result, new brands like the Global Consumer Survey and the Mobility Market Outlook were added to Statista’s range of products. This trend mainly stems from the successful growth strategy of Statista’s in-house market and social research department, Strategic Market Insights.

Apart from traffic and content, Statista continues to grow in other areas as well. The statistics portal currently employs about 550 people from 45 different nations. The latest expansion of the office space in the Brahms Kontor building in Hamburg, which has been the location of Statista’s headquarters for many years, was celebrated in early July with the hoisting of a Statista flag on the roof of the Brahms Kontor by the company’s founders, Dr. Friedrich Schwandt and Tim Kröger, in front of their employees. On September 1, Statista opens a new regional headquarter in Paris, which will then become a third international focus location of the company along with New York City and London. In 2018 Statista operates additional offices in nine locations worldwide including Stockholm, Bangalore, and Shanghai.
