Ukrainian public opinion about relations with Russia 2013-2023

In May 2023, nearly eight out of ten Ukrainians believed that their country's relations with Russia should be the same as with other countries, with closed borders, visas, and customs. The public opinion changed significantly over the past decade. In February 2013, the majority of respondents held the view that Ukraine and Russia should be independent yet friendly nations with open borders.
