Russian production of oil, gas, and coal was expected to increase between 2017 and 2040. The fastest growth was forecasted for gas production, where the volume was estimated to reach 732 million metric tons of oil equivalent in 2040. Coal production was predicted to gradually increase to 218 million metric tons of oil equivalent by 2030, but decrease by two million metric tons of oil equivalent by 2040.
