U.S. air carriers: fatal accident rate 2000-2019

The accident rate of U.S. airliners has been decreasing over the last two decades, with there being only two years with fatal accidents since 2014 - 2018 and 2019. In these years, the respective accident rates were 0.01 and 0.02 fatal accidents per 100,000 departures. This compares to there being only one year in the prior decade where there were no fatal aircraft accidents.
