Area burned by forest fires in Russia 2018-2019, by region
During the first seven months of 2019, the area swelled by forest fires in the Sakha, or Yakutia Republic in Russia increased by nearly 310 thousand hectares relative to 2018 figures. In the Amur Oblast, the area significantly decreased, measuring at 260.9 thousand hectares from January to July 2019 compared to approximately 1.3 million hectares burned over the same period in the previous year.
