Colombia's automotive industry as share of GDP 2023

Amidst the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Colombia, the automotive manufacturing industry was severely impacted. In the second quarter of 2020, the sector's contribution to the Colombian gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 0.12 percent. The following quarters saw an improvement in the industry's performance, although the industry's share of the country's GDP still remained lower than before the pandemic. By the second quarter of 2023, this share was around 0.19 percent.
