WhatsApp usage share by generation in Chile 2019

During a survey conducted in February 2019, around 87 percent of Generation Z respondents (aged 13 to 21) stated that they used WhatsApp very frequently, at least once every three or four hours per day. Yet the frequency of use of this messaging platform was highest among Millennials and Xers, with 94 percent of respondents in each age group. Overall, more than two thirds of people surveyed in Chile said that they used WhatsApp at least once per hour during the day.

The data showed in this statistic refers to respondents who answered: "Constantly, at least once per hour during the day" and "Every three or four hours during the day".

Age groups are defined as follows:

- Millennials: 22-35 years
- Xers: 36-51 years
- Boomers: 52-71 years
