Preferred overnight accommodation types of U.S. LGBTQ travelers as of December 2018
In 2018, 74 percent of LGBTQ travelers from the United States chose to stay overnight in an urban or city hotel. Privately-owned accommodation options such as Airbnb, were also popular overnight options, used by 38 percent of LGBTQ travelers. Hotels in suburban areas were the third most popular option, chosen by 35 percent of travelers. Meanwhile, some six percent chose other types of accommodation.
