According to a survey conducted between December 2019 and January 2020, more than 60 percent of companies in Japan were implementing workstyle reforms. Additionally, more than 16 percent stated that they were not implementing workstyle initiatives at present, but were planning to do so in the future. A workstyle reform law aiming at the improvement of workplace culture was enacted in April 2019. Common initiatives include the promotion to take holidays and the reduction of long working hours.
