Production of apricots in South Africa 2000-2019
The production of apricots in South Africa declined to 33.3 thousand metric tons in 2018/19, down from 39.8 thousand metric tons in the previous year. The amount was also significantly above the one measured in 200/01, 62.6 thousand metric tons. Since that year, the production fluctuated, suffering several drops, which were associated with bad weather and stronger competition with other producers like Brazil, Argentina, and Chile.
