As of 2022, the largest share of domestic meat consumption in Ireland was poultry meat. That year, poultry meat consisted of approximately 45 percent of the domestic use of meat in Ireland. Close behind was pig meat (pork), which made up about 32.5 percent of the domestic meat consumption. Sheep meat was the least consumed meat, at three percent.
