Risk of highly violent conflict in conflict region MENA 2020, by country
In 2020, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen had a score of 10 for the risk of current highly violent conflict in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Although the COVID-19 cases in the region were low by international standards, the conflict and humanitarian crises which left more than 57 million people in those countries in need of humanitarian assistance even prior to the pandemic made them vulnerable to a greater threat.
