As of 2022, nearly 389 thousand heads of pigs were slaughtered in Kenya. The amount increased slightly from the previous year. The rise in the livestock slaughter count was primarily linked to a higher rate of utilization, employed as a means to address the scarcity of grazing land brought about by an extended period of drought.
