In 2019, the majority of French people who mentioned using social media to watch movies illegally at least once a month showed a preference to use links posted on these platforms.
Specifically, more than 70 percent would use redirecting links to watch a movie, compared to only 53 percent who watch movies posted directly on the respective social network. Almost 75 percent of the respondents would use redirecting links to watch series online, while less than 50 percent watch shows posted directly on the respective social network. More than 80 of the respondents would use redirecting links to watch sport events online, while slightly more than 20 percent watch broadcasts posted directly on the respective social network.
