Over the last decade, the increasing price of timber in the United States has exerted pressure on the cost of new housing construction. According to an analysis, in 2010 roughly 13 median family houses could be constructed using 50,000 U.S. dollars of timber. This number actually increased in 2015, but by 2021 the same dollar value could only purchase enough timber to construct two median family houses.
