Distribution of privatized companies in Egypt 1991-2009, by type of offering
Between 1991 and 2009, the Egyptian government implemented a program of privatization regarding its public business sector companies through different means of offerings. The majority of 30 percent was offered through anchor investors, while 16 percent went through asset sale. Moreover, nine percent was privatized through leasing and eight percent by the sale of minority stake through public offering.
