Global Innovation Index score in Africa 2020, by country
In 2020, South Africa scored 32.67 out of 100 in the Global Innovation Index (GII), ranking first in Africa and 60th globally. Tunisia and Morocco followed in the continent with a score of 31.21 and 28.97, ranking 65th and 75th in the world, respectively. Moreover, Guinea, with a score of 17.32 index points, ranked last in Africa and 130th out of 131 countries worldwide.
