In 2018, the share of male children between the ages of 14 and 17 years attending a secondary education institution in South Africa was at 80 percent, which was lower than that for females at 85.5 percent. Moreover, 15.9 percent and 9.7 percent of males and females were attending other educational institutions, respectively. Furthermore, slightly more females did not attend anything.
