Projected poverty rate before and during COVID-19 in Djibouti 2020
In 2020, poverty in Djibouti was projected to increase due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. During the pandemic, 66.4 percent of the population was projected to be living with less than 5.5 U.S. dollars per day, while nearly 36 percent with less than 3.2 U.S. dollars per day. Considering both poverty lines, poverty was projected to rise compared to the pre-COVID-19 period.
