In August 2021, the mini-program of McDonald's on WeChat had almost 29 million active users in China, the highest among all WeChat mini-programs up by brands. WeChat Mini Program is the light version of apps built within WeChat's ecosystem, providing users advanced features such as e-commerce and task management. Mobile shopping, daily services, and business were the most popular categories of mini-programs.
