Leading channels for getting product information in China 2021, by city tier
According to a survey among Chinese consumers in July 2021, respectively 57 and 62 percent of respondents from China's higher- and lower-tier cities said that they use e-commerce platforms to acquire product information before purchasing. In comparison, around 46 percent of the surveyed lower-tier city consumers said they use apps such as Xiaohongshu for getting product information, and only 32 percent of the bigger city respondents did the same.
