Freedom of expression score in Ethiopia 2000-2022
Ethiopia scored 24 points in the Global Expression Report (GxR) in 2022. This was higher by two points from the previous year. Since 2000, openness of the society and freedom of speech was highest in 2019 at 33 points, while in 2016 the country received its lowest score at 11 points. GxR ranks countries based on the openness of the society, with a higher score being given to countries with more freedom of expression.
