Klebsiella pneumoniae is a bacteria causing bloodstream infections, urinary and respiratory infections. As of 2021, resistance to third-generation cephalosporin antibiotics was the most common form of Klebsiella pneumoniae antibiotic resistance in EU and EEA countries, with 34.3 percent, followed by resistance to fluoroquinolones.
