In 2022, around 10.4 million light-duty electric vehicles (EVs) were sold globally, constituting nearly 13 percent of the approximately 82 million new light-duty vehicles sold worldwide. The four largest markets, namely China, the United States, Europe, and India, accounted for approximately 76 percent of the total global EV sales.
