European perception of car brands' environmental friendliness, by country of origin
Over half of consumers in the five countries surveyed would not describe car brands as environmentally friendly based on the brand's country of origin. At around 40 percent, Spanish respondents represented the highest share of consumers who would describe European cars as environmentally friendly. In contrast, Chinese car brands did not record the same success: 12 percent of Germans and 11 percent of Spanish consumers would describe these brands as environmentally friendly.
