As of January 25, 2024, Facebook was the social media channel in which political parties in Portugal accumulated the highest number of followers. CHEGA was the party with the most Facebook followers, namely more than 186 thousand. The Social Democratic Party (PSD) followed, with 168 thousand followers, while People - Animals - Nature (PAN) counted 165 thousand following accounts.
On Instagram, CHEGA maintained its superiority in terms of number of followers, which were 136 thousand. The Liberal Initiative (IL) was in second place, with almost 92 thousand followers, whereas the Left Bloc (BE) was third, with practically 55 thousand.
TikTok magnified CHEGA's social media dominance, as this party had almost 33 thousand followers, while both the Socialist Party (PS) and the Social Democratic Party (PSD) only had slightly more than a thousand following accounts each.
