U.S.: utilities CAPEX on power grids 2023

Investor-owned utilities in the United States invested some 170 billion U.S. dollars in electricity grid expansion in 2023. Replacement, hardening and resilience, and expansion of the grid accounted for the largest share of the expenditure on distribution and transmission infrastructure, while investment in advanced technology amounted to roughly six billion U.S. dollars.
