About 2.8 million passenger cars were produced in the United States in 2018, the lowest number since 2011. As of 2018, the Ford F-Series was among the best selling car or light truck models in the world, topping one million sales that year. The Ford F-Series, which have been available since the 1940s, is a series of light-duty trucks and medium-duty trucks. Ford's second best selling passenger car is the Ford Focus, which began production in 1998 under the Ford Motor Company in Europe and soon after moved to North America in 1999.
