This statistic illustrates a distribution of the personal-computing time of U.S. iPad owners by device type. In July 2012, the iPad is the main device for what people now consider personal computing. People who own an iPad use them more than laptops for "casual computing" in personal computing time. The iPad scored as the most used device for personal computing time, with 41 percent of people's time taken up by the iPad compared to 25 percent of the time using a laptop, and both the desktop and smartphone coming in at 17 percent.
