Revenue of Tim Hortons 2015-2018

IIn 2018, Canadian quick service restaurant (QSR) chain Tim Hortons generated revenue of approximately 3.29 billion U.S. dollars, up from 3.15 billion the previous year.

The bigger the company, the higher the revenue?

The restaurant chain generated the vast majority of its revenue from sales accounting for approximately 2.2 billion U.S. dollars. It is owned by Restaurant Brands International, which is also the parent company of fast food chains Burger King and Popeyes. Burger King operated and franchised the most establishments out of the group in 2018, with a total of nearly 18 thousand units worldwide. Comparatively, Tim Hortons comprised of around five thousand units in that year. Popeyes was even smaller in numbers, there being only slightly more than three thousand units in 2018. Despite operating and franchising less restaurants than sister company Burger King, Tim Hortons recorded a higher revenue in 2018. Burger King’s global revenue of 1.6 billion U.S. dollars, was relatively meagre when compared to Tim Hortons’, it’s revenue almost three times as high.

Do Canadians really love Tim Hortons?

While Burger King largely outnumbered Tim Hortons on a global scale, Tim Hortons was the largest quick service chain in its native Canada. Comparatively, Burger King only operated and franchised a total of around three hundred restaurants in Canada as of 2018.
