Ranked second and third were Hartley's and Nutella. When broken down by product type, Jam is the clearly the preferred type of spread in Great Britain. Approximately 19.2 million people were jam users in 2018, with a further 10.3 million marmalade users. Although Marmite is the most popular individual brand, savory spreads have far less users than marmalade or jam, with 8.9 million users.
Looking only at the supermarket brands of jams, honey and spreads, Tesco was the most popular brand in 2018, with 5.2 million users. In total, supermarket own brands managed to attract 20.4 million users in 2018.
