Occupied retail stores in the United Kingdom (UK) 2014, by property type
This statistic shows the share of retail stores occupied in the United Kingdom (UK), by property type and split by occupier type (original occupier or other). Since 2009 many high profile retail brands have gone into administration in the UK, with the media declaring such times as the 'death of the high street'. As of January 2014, approximately 62 percent of stores based in retail parks are occupied, 29.6 percent of which by the original owners. Other property types include stores on the high street, in shopping centres and stand-alone stores.
