M&A financing sources in Europe 2023

In the first half of 2023, senior executives from 240 corporate and 90 private equity firms based in Europe, the Americas, and APAC regions were asked what sources of financing they think will be most available over the next 12 months. Private equity was quoted as the main way of funding available to corporates for M&A by 24 percent of respondents. Second and third ranked non-bank lenders/credit funds and cash reserves by 21 and 16 percent of respondents respectively.
