Total visitors to sponsored museums England 2023

Attendance at museums sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) in England roughly doubled in 2022/2023 compared to the previous fiscal year. Despite the sharp annual increase, the number of visitors to DCMS-sponsored museums in England remained below the figures recorded before the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, reaching around 35.1 million between April 2022 and March 2023.
