Singapore had the most powerful passports worldwide as of mid-2023, granting visa-free access to more than 190 countries. Following in the ranking were the official travel identifications from Spain, Germany, and Italy.

*According to the source, the total score is calculated by cross-checking each passport against 227 possible travel destinations. Each passport receives a score with value = 1, if passport holders do not require a visa (for each travel destination) or if they can obtain a visa on arrival, a visitor’s permit, or an electronic travel authority (ETA) when entering the destination.
Where a visa is required, or where a passport holder has to obtain a government-approved electronic visa (e-Visa) before departure, a score with value = 0 is assigned to the passport. The same score is also assigned if passport holders need pre-departure government approval for a visa on arrival.
