This statistic presents an estimate of retail spending in the two months around the birth of the royal baby, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, in the United Kingdom (UK), split by type of spending. The second child of Prince William and Kate Middleton of the British Royal Family was born on May 2, 2015 and is estimated to generate spending of around 80 million British pounds. Of this, 27 million is expected to be spent on souvenirs such as ceramic mugs, coins and other memorabilia, 25 million on food such as themed cakes and a further 28 million on alcohol drunk in celebration.
