The figures show a significant decrease in the amount of gas used, falling from 28.52 million metric tons of oil equivalent in 2005, to 17.7 million metric metric tons of oil equivalent in 2013. However, the following year gas used increased, and by 2017 amounted to to 24.59 million tons of oil equivalent.
