Greenhouse gas emissions annual change in the U.S. 1991-2021
Annual GHG emissions have decreased 12 times since 1990, with the majority of reductions occurring in the last decade. Before 2020, the last major drop in emissions was in 2009, when emissions fell 6.2 percent as a result of the global financial crisis.
