This graph shows the percentage of respondents who intend to vote in the forthcoming General Election in the United Kingdom (UK). The sample was sorted by social grade and gender. Statistically, men within the A,B and C1 brackets were 20 percent more likely to vote than women in the C2,D and E brackets.

A: Upper middle class; workers of higher managerial, administrative or professional positions
B: Middle class; worker in intermediate managerial, administrative or professional positions
C1: Lower middle class; working in supervisory or clerical and junior managerial, administrative or professional positions
C2: Skilled working class; working as skilled manual workers
D: Working class; working as semi-skilled and unskilled manual workers
E: Non working; casual or lowest grade workers, pensioners, and others who depend on the welfare state for their income
