This corresponds with the baby boom period that came after the Second World War. After 1965, the demographic pressure decreased until 1995, from 90.3 percent to 60.2 percent. After 1995 the demographic pressure started to increase again, this time as a result of an aging population. The higher the demographic pressure, the more non-working people the working population has to support.
