Between 2003 and 2019, the average number of daily copies of La Gazzetta dello Sport sold in Italy decreased dramatically. In 2003 this number stood at almost 358 thousand copies, but by 2019 this figure was more than halved, standing at around 143 thousand. This happened despite La Gazzetta dello Sport being the most widespread daily sport newspaper in Italy.
