Frequency of going to the movies in the U.S. 2019, by gender

A survey held in June 2019 revealed that 50 percent of female U.S. adults saw movies in theaters just once per year or less, with only 12 percent saying that they did so once per month or more. Men were more likely to have visited movie theaters more regularly, though the majority reported seeing films in cinemas less than once a month.
