Global wine consumption has increased over the past decade, rising from 226 million hectoliters in 2000 to reach 236 million hectoliters in 2021. France and Italy are the world leaders when it comes to wine exports, with France’s 2021 exports reaching 11.08 billion euros, and Italy reaching 7.06 billion euros. France and Italy were also among the world’s biggest consumers of wine on a per-capita basis.
