Fast food restaurants popular for singles in Germany 2020

Most German singles preferred to go to McDonald’s, as far as fast food restaurants in Germany were concerned. McDonald’s was followed by Burger King and Nordsee – a fish restaurant tracing its roots back to Bremen.

McDonald’s popularity in this case isn’t surprising as it is among the leading quick service restaurant companies ranked by number of outlets in Germany. It’s accessible and familiar to most of the German population and massively represented across cities, towns and transport hubs. McDonald’s is also the most visited fast food restaurant in Germany. Most German singles visited restaurants and pubs several times a month, fewer did so several times a week. Going to coffee shops wasn’t as popular by comparison.

Restaurant industry thriving

Based on surveys, German consumers tended to eat out in their leisure time “sometimes” rather than often or never. Still, whether diners often visit a restaurant or not, restaurant industry revenue has been growing in recent years.
