Leading social networks used for news in Canada 2019-2023

WhatsApp saw increased popularity as a news source in Canada from 2019 to 2022, but the favorite was still Facebook in 2023, with 29 percent of Canadians surveyed using the social network platform each week for news. Facebook saw a drop in popularity in 2023, and TikTok made the ranking of most used social networks for news with six percent accessing the platform for this reason each week.
