Supplementary notes

The low income measure (LIM) is a fixed percentage (50 percent) of adjusted family income where adjusted indicates a consideration of family needs. The family size adjustment reflects the precept that family needs increase with family size. A family is considered to be low income when their income is below the LIM for their family type and size. Adapted from Statistics Canada, statcan.gc.ca, 2001 to 2021. This does not constitute an endorsement by Statistics Canada of this product.
